Safety
Safety is our number one concern followed by making sure you have a good time. We are fully insured and licensed to operate in Pennsylvania and Maryland. Safety equipment and first aid items are carried for all wade trips.
Weather & Water Policy
We fish rain or shine. That said, there are times when the weather may make conditions unsafe. In the event that weather renders the scheduled trip unsafe, a make-up trip will be scheduled at no cost. On small waters, we fish in any color and flow unless it doesn’t make sense to do so.
Activity
Please note that walk-in wade fishing is a physically demanding activity. You will be walking on trails with uneven terrain, wading in water with slippery rocks for several hours. Please discuss your physical abilities prior to booking your trip, and be aware of your physical limitations. Shorter trips and other accommodations can be made prior to your outing. There is some water in the area with limited handicapped accessibility, but it needs to be booked well in advance of your trip. Please contact me as soon as possible to discuss any special needs.
Food
A shore lunch is provided for full-day wade trips. Snacks and water will be provided for shorter outings. If you have any dietary restrictions, please contact me prior to your trip to discuss accommodations.
Deposit
Deposits are nonrefundable. In the event that a trip has to be rescheduled due to the conditions outlined in the Weather & Water Policy, the deposit will be applied to the rescheduled trip. We do understand unforeseen circumstances can arise. If you have to back out of a scheduled trip at the last minute, please give us a call to discuss options.
Fish
Fish are wild animals. As such, things can alter their behavior that are beyond our control that makes catching them more difficult than other times. We will do everything we can to put you on fish, but we can’t make them eat. Additionally, some species are simply too unpredictable to ensure success.
Licenses
A fishing license is required for all waters we fish for anglers who meet the requirements for the respective state. Use the link below to get your fishing license online.
What to bring
Clothing – Depending on season, bring layered clothing and something to store shed layers in. Contact us to discuss the conditions prior to your trip.
Rods/Reels – For small stream backcountry brook trout, a 7′-6″ 3wt rod is ideal. In certain circumstances, longer rods can work and even provide an advantage. The stream we fish will play a big role in the type of rod. Please call to discuss your desired fishing location type and we’ll recommend a rod for that water. We can provide rod/reel outfits to fit each scenario so please call to discuss gear options before your trip.
Waders – Depending on the season and the waters you want to fish, chest waders are preferred. In some small back-country streams, wading pants are a good choice to keep bugs and briars off your legs. In the summer, wet wading is the best way to travel light and keep cool.
